Childhood friends

I'm sad for you
but more than sad for you, I'm sad for me.
Because when I toasted for you,
I also toasted for me, my friend.

And ten years have passed:
think of ten falls ...
of ten times dreams on paper
of asking till ten
with whom,
how,
why.

Think about right before we starting dying:
One, two, ten.

And now,
sitting on the front porch of our lives,
we raise our glass,
and thanks to Instagram, we know why to toast:
for the loves, for the achievements, for the highs.

And what do you have left?
Because when everything goes well, something is missing.

To mature
was that:
To “be there” with a plan. To put the disorder upside down, occupying the minimum space right next to the boxes of the rotting fish.

But, while you were talking to me, I thought of us.
Of the flapping of wings.
Of the hours that build a prologue on the wounded surface.
Of for how long I haven’t been writing.
And that, despite everything, that is also life.
